About Us
The legal name of this trucking company is Gregory G. Miller, dba Trail of Tears Shipping & Handling. The business name has been in continuous use by Greg Miller since the 1990s.
The name Trail of Tears Shipping & Handling originated in the 1990s during a period when Mr. Miller would take his two young children on the road with him during summer custody. Even at a young age, the children were highly engaged in the trucking lifestyle, learning to read a trucker’s road atlas and traveling extensively throughout the lower 48 states. They ultimately selected the name Trail of Tears Shipping & Handling from several options Mr. Miller presented, and it has remained the company’s operating name ever since.
Mr. Miller began his commercial driving career in the 1980s, during the era of chauffeur licenses, initially hauling milk from farms to dairies. He later advanced to team driving refrigerated trailers across the lower 48 states, at a time when the national speed limit was 55 miles per hour. Over the years, he owned and operated several used trucks, leasing them to well-established carriers such as Fleetline/Dart Transit, CRST, and Landstar. After gaining extensive experience, he transitioned to operating under his own authority.
Although Trail of Tears Shipping & Handling has always operated as a single-truck operation, Mr. Miller has consistently offered a broad range of services to meet customer needs. These services have included Dry Van, Step Deck, Power-Only, and Trailer Interchange operations. In addition, he has provided pad-wrapped freight services, automobile transport, equipment transport, and classified military equipment shipments, as well as nearly any cargo that can be legally transported in a dry van or step deck trailer.
